Job Summary
  • Understand who our customers are and what our customers expect of us.
  • Be the first to respond to any customer request or need.
  • Support other members of the work team in meeting customer needs.
  • Be accountable for the technical and behavioral competencies of the job.
  • Manage the day to day operations of the biomedical personnel and clinical biomedical equipment.
  • Assigns and oversees work to the department staff.
  • Recommends tests and deploys new equipment.
  • Works closely with clinical departments, vendors and biomedical engineering staff to maintain clinical equipment to specified standards.
  • Must stay current and ensure compliance with local, state and federal codes.
  • Oversees maintenance and equipment records.
  • Oversees budget variance and yearly budget submission for department.

Certification

Certified Biomedical Engineering Technician (CBET) through International Certification Commission for Clinical Engineering and Biomedical Technology (ICC) operating under the direction of the United States Certification Commission (USCC) preferred.

Education

 

High school graduate or equivalent.  Associates degree in Biomedical Electronics preferred.  Bachelors preferred

Experience

 

Substantial experience with repair and calibration of Hospital Biomedical Equipment required.  Supervisory experience preferred.
