Job Summary

  • Support other members of the work team in meeting customer needs.
  • Be accountable for the technical and behavioral competencies of the job.
  • Responsible for the business aspects of patient care to include account creation, scheduling (to include patient instruction pre-appointment and post-appointment) for specialized procedures, insurance verification, determination of patient responsibility and estimates, reception, pre-authorization, authorization, bookkeeping, and other clerical support duties with an emphasis on patient focused customer service.

Education

High school graduate for equivalent required. Associates degree preferred.

Experience

Computer literacy, typing proficiency, knowledge of medical terminology; medical office or related experience, hospital admissions experience, or medical scheduling, or insurance verification, or preauthorization experience preferred. Electronic medical record experience preferred. Knowledge of Community Wide Scheduling preferred.
