Title:  Unit Assistant Med/Surg Stroke (5 East) FT ($13.90 -$24.00)

Job Summary

• Understand who our customers are and what our customers expect of us.
• Support other members of the work team in meeting customer needs.
• Be accountable for the technical and behavioral competencies of the job.
• Provides clerical support for patient care unit. 
• Transcription of physician orders, guest reception, data entry and retrieval, ordering supplies.
• Transfer training/transportation at discharge.
• Respond to alarms (encourage to stay seated, get assistance).
• Maintenance of waste, linens (includes strips rooms at discharge), waters, refrigerator/freezer daily check and log, restocking supplies/isolation carts, survey area checklist, blanket warmer check and log, deliver food trays, and other duties as assigned.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience

Unit Assistant or medical/clerical experience required.  Completion of a medical terminology class required at hire or within 6 months of hire.
